Shock: Son Mercilessly Stubs His Biological Father To Death In front Of His Children

A 28-year-old man is currently in police custody in Rukungiri District for allegedly killing his 65-year-old father in front of his grandchildren. The incident occurred in Kateramo village, Kikongi parish, Bwambara sub-county on the late hours of Monday, July 17, 2023.

The victim, John Mbanganisa, was a 65-year-old peasant farmer, while the suspect, Justus Byamukama, was a 28-year-old casual worker in the same village. According to Elly Maate, the Kigezi Police region spokesman, the suspect returned home and got into an altercation with his father after entering the house.

The exchange of words escalated, and despite the deceased's attempts to calm the situation, the suspect became violent and began hitting his father with a walking stick. The grandchildren who were present witnessed the suspect grabbing his father's neck and strangling him to death.

Upon hearing the commotion, the alarmed grandchildren called for help from their neighbors. One of the neighbors, Edson Kamani, and others responded and attempted to apprehend the suspect, but he managed to flee towards Kateramo trading center.

The defense secretary, Muyambi Protazi, was alerted and pursued the suspect, successfully apprehending him. The area chairperson, John Tumushabe, then contacted the police from Bikurungu Police Post, who arrived at the scene and took the suspect into custody.
