Makerere University Students Dominates Regional Misss Tourism Contests: Ayebare Crowned In Ankole, Eunice Leading In Busoga

Ayebare Restytuta has been named Miss Tourism Ankole in the highly anticipated regional pageant held in Mbarara. The event, which took place at the prestigious Las Vegas Hotel on Saturday, marked the end of a series of competitions and activities.

Before being crowned Miss Tourism Ankole, Ayebare had already gained recognition as Miss Popularity Ankole in the Miss Tourism pageant. Her win as the regional tourism queen confirms her appeal and popularity among the residents of Ankole.

During the grand finale, Ayebare competed against several other exceptional contestants. Kulabako Sharidah was named the first runner-up, while Ainomujuni Hopkins secured the position of second runner-up. Their impressive performances and charm earned them well-deserved recognition in the pageant.

As the newly crowned Miss Tourism Ankole, Ayebare will represent the Ankole region in the upcoming Miss Tourism grand finale. The grand finale is set to take place on September 9th at the prestigious Kampala Serena Hotel. This event will be a celebration of beauty and culture as representatives from various regions compete for the Miss Tourism crown.

This year's Miss Tourism Beauty Pageant will have the theme "Greening Tourism," which emphasizes the importance of sustainable tourism practices and promoting environmentally-friendly initiatives within the tourism industry. It highlights the need to protect Uganda's natural resources and preserve its cultural heritage.

Currently, the Miss Tourism crown is held by Sydney Nabulya, the Buganda beauty queen who was crowned Miss Tourism 2022. Sydney has been a remarkable Miss Tourism and a passionate advocate for promoting tourism in Uganda.

The Miss Tourism pageant plays a significant role in showcasing the diverse beauty, culture, and tourism potential of different regions in Uganda. It provides a platform for young women to represent their regions and promote tourism as ambassadors. The winners of this prestigious title become influential figures in advocating for sustainable tourism practices and cultural preservation.

Ayebare Restytuta's crowning as Miss Tourism Ankole is a testament to her elegance, intelligence, and dedication. She will undoubtedly be an exceptional representative for the Ankole region and contribute to the promotion of tourism in Uganda.

In the ongoing Busoga Region Miss Tourism competitions, Tabuuza Eunice Evelyne, a 23-year-old student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Economics at Makerere University, is currently leading the other contestants by a significant margin.
